Iranian Consul General praises KDP President Masoud Barzani's successful visit to Baghdad

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Nasrollah Rashnoudi, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil, on Friday lauded the recent visit of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani to Baghdad, highlighting its positive reception and potential to foster unity among Iraqi political factions.

Rashnoudi expressed his admiration for the warm welcome Barzani received from various Iraqi political figures and parties. "Mr. Barzani's visit to Baghdad and the respect he received from the parties and personalities is remarkable and pleasant," Rashnoudi stated.

He emphasized the significance of this visit in strengthening relationships among Iraq's diverse political groups. "We hope President Barzani's visit will be successful and lead to unity among the Iraqi political parties. We also hope that Mr. Barzani's visit will lead to good relations between the parties," Rashnoudi added.

President Barzani conducted 17 productive meetings with Iraqi political party leaders and senior governmental and political officials. The purpose of the visit was to address internal issues in Iraq, resolve the longstanding disputes between Erbil and Baghdad, foster a climate of goodwill, and underscore the importance of ongoing collaboration among all stakeholders in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
