Drinkable Water Supply Project to Goptapa in Chamchamal

The total budget is 78 million dollars, provided by the 9th Cabinet of the Kurdistan Region’s Government.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – On Monday, the Mayor of Chamchamal District of Sulaimani Province stated “The HABILKA company continues to work in the site of the water supply project in Goptapa- Chamchamal, on daily basis, with all the required tools and apparatus provided”

The mayor affirmed “The local district authority rejects all the rumors regarding whether the cancellation or stopping the project. The implementation company’s work facilitated by the Chamchamal district administration, and any problems that are on the project’s way, will get sorted out”

In a press conference on Monday, the Kurdistan Region’s Minister of Municipalities and Tourism Sasan Awni stated “Signing off a contract for the project of supplying the drinkable water is straight forward to our town Chamchaml”

“It is years that Chamchaml and areas around suffer from the water shortage, and this Chamchamal people’s long waiting from the 9th Cabinet of the Kurdistan Region’s Government, will successfully end soon” He added.

He reassured that this is a recommendation and order by the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, and of his care towards Chamchaml people. That project gets added on the 9th Cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s work list”  

Sasan confirmed the agreement will be signed off on Monday, and will move on to the implement stage immediately.

The title (The Designing, Implementing and Usage Project of the Goptapa’s Water) is given to the plant.
