Setting up electronic database for ministry of Health continues

The aim of this project was to link all the hospitals, health settings and other departments in the health sector of the Kurdistan Region Government electronically.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Head of the Planning Management department in Ministry of Health Sarhang Jalal clarified in an interview arranged by Kurdistan 24 in Last-Minutes Night Confabulation, on Thursday, the plan would be to perform the admin work electronically in the ministry, its organizations and settings.

Digitalizing the files, information and the whole work between different agencies and departments belong to the ministry of health already started.

According to the plan it’s decided to set up a database which will be collecting patients’ personal health information in one digital hub. So, via a mobile phone application the patients can put their health information in hand, in any health setting they go to.

Jalal confirmed timeframe for operating the electronic admin work in their ministry could take place in the nearest future. “All patients’ health paperwork and files will be transferred on to the electronic system, and through an electronic program all the doctors can have access to the patients’ record.” Jalal stated.

He also emphasized that applies to all the residents in Kurdistan Region, as well as one of the most important plans carried out by the ministry in the last few years.

The aim of this project was to link all the hospitals, health settings and other departments of the health sector in the Kurdistan Region Government electronically.

As well as enhancing the Record and Statistics departments in the hospitals and health centers, facilitating the archiving and protecting individuals’ personal data, making work easier for the physicians and patients.
