On Sunday, Karwan Mohammed, director of the Breast Disease Center, told the Kurdistan Region's Department of Media and Information, "From August 1, 2022, to mid-July 2024, 1,800 patients visited us and were treated and monitored."
"Some of the patients who come to the center are those suffering from breast cancer or those who need to be followed up and tested to ensure their health condition," he said.
Mohammed highlighted that the center is equipped with all necessary equipment, such as sonar and advanced mammography, provided by the Ministry of Health of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
Additionally, the center will facilitate care for all cancer patients living in the Raparin Independent Administration, reducing the need for them to travel to Sulaimani and Erbil and lowering associated costs.
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is committed to providing fast and advanced treatment across different regions by establishing medical centers like the one in Ranya. These centers aim to reduce the pressure on major hospitals, enhancing their efficiency.
