Medical graduates protest in Baghdad demanding employment
“We are medical graduates and we are demanding employment,” one of the demonstrators told Kurdistan24. “We will continue our demonstration until we are employed."

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Monday, medical graduates from across Iraqi provinces gathered in Baghdad for the sixth time, demonstrating in front of the Iraqi Ministry of Finance to demand employment due to the lack of employment ranks in this year's budget bill.
“We are medical graduates and we are demanding employment,” one of the demonstrators told Kurdistan24. “We will continue our demonstration until we are employed."
Another protester emphasized, "We are asking Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Sudani to implement our demands. When we went to university, there was a law that required us to be employed, but we have not been employed yet. We have 61,000 graduates, so we once again ask the finance minister and the prime minister to employ us."
One demonstrator questioned the change in the employment law, stating, “The Iraqi government must include our employment in the budget. How did that law change? According to the existing law, we had to be employed.”
