Kurdistan Region aims to boost trade with Thailand, says KRG senior official

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is eager to enhance trade relations with the Kingdom of Thailand, Safeen Dizayee, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations for the KRG, announced on Thursday during a business forum in Erbil.

The forum fostered collaboration between the KRG, the Erbil Chamber of Commerce, and a prominent Thai business delegation.

Dizayee highlighted the existing positive relationship between the two regions, emphasizing their ongoing economic cooperation and coordination. He underscored the importance of building mutual trust for successful trade partnerships.

"Thailand has emerged as a crucial global economic player, prompting us to encourage our business community to actively engage with them," Dizayee remarked. He further expressed the government's support for businesspeople and entrepreneurs in both Kurdistan and Thailand.

"We plan to visit Thailand and establish trade coordination mechanisms," Dizayee added. "We look forward to advancing together and revitalizing the private sector."

This announcement signifies the KRG's proactive approach to strengthening economic ties with Thailand, recognizing its significant economic role and the potential for mutually beneficial trade relationships.
