Iraq’s Meteorological Authority forecasts clear skies, steady temperatures

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Iraqi Meteorological Authority has released its weather forecast for the coming days, predicting a continuation of clear skies and stable temperatures across the country, with a slight increase expected early next week.

In a statement issued on Friday, August 30, 2024, the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring's Meteorological Forecasting Department announced that "on Saturday, the weather will be clear with some clouds, and temperatures will remain close to those of the previous day."

The forecast details maximum temperatures for key regions as follows: Baghdad, Diyala, Diwaniyah, Kirkuk, Babylon, Karbala, Salah al-Din, and Nineveh are expected to reach 42°C. Najaf, Muthanna, and Wasit will see highs of 43°C, while Dhi Qar is forecasted at 44°C. Anbar will experience 41°C, Maysan 46°C, Basra 45°C, Erbil 41°C, Sulaymaniyah 40°C, and Dohuk will record the lowest at 38°C.

The statement also noted that Sunday’s weather will remain clear, with temperatures similar to those on Saturday. A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Monday, with clear skies continuing.

By Tuesday, the forecast predicts clear weather with some cloud coverage, and temperatures will remain consistent with those of the previous day across all regions.
