ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Mr. Liu Jun, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Erbil, announced on Tuesday that Chinese tourist visas will soon be issued to residents of Erbil, marking a significant step in strengthening the relationship between China and the Kurdistan Region.

"The relationship between the Kurdistan Region and China is very important," he said. The Consul General also highlighted China's ongoing efforts to build bridges with the Kurdish community, particularly through educational programs.
"We have opened this event for Kurdish students who have received scholarships in China, which will be an opportunity for the people of China and Kurdistan to connect with each other," Zhenyong noted. These scholarships are part of a broader initiative to foster cultural and educational exchanges between the two sides.
In addition to student exchanges, Zhenyong revealed that China has been actively providing training programs for Kurdish professionals. "Last year alone, we sent 130 people from the Kurdistan Region to China," he said, underscoring the growing collaboration.
