KRG, Iraqi Economic Councils convene in Erbil to tackle key financial issues

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Sunday, a high-level meeting between the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Economic Ministerial Council and the Iraqi Economic Ministerial Council took place in Erbil.

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani welcomed the Iraqi delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Fuad Hussein, to discuss critical financial matters affecting both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

Key topics on the agenda included the management of border crossings, the Kurdistan Region's financial entitlements, employee salaries, budget allocations, and the impact of Iraqi government checkpoints on the export of farmers' products. The discussions also covered taxation policies and other pressing economic issues.

This meeting underscores the ongoing efforts to strengthen economic ties and resolve long-standing disputes between the KRG and Baghdad.
