Narin Güran's body returned to family, 21 suspects detained
Narin, who went missing in the Tavşantepe Neighborhood of Diyarbakır's central Bağlar district on Aug. 21, was discovered lifeless in the Eğertutmaz Stream yesterday. The Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is conducting the ongoing investigation.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The body of 8-year-old Narin Güran, tragically found dead in Diyarbakır yesterday, was released to her family following an autopsy. The investigation into her death continues, with 21 suspects currently detained.
Narin, who went missing in the Tavşantepe Neighborhood of Diyarbakır's central Bağlar district on Aug. 21, was discovered lifeless in the Eğertutmaz Stream yesterday. The Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is conducting the ongoing investigation.
Following the autopsy at the Diyarbakır Forensic Medicine Institute, Narin's body was handed over to her family. Her funeral is expected to take place today in the Tavşantepe Neighborhood.
Previously, on Sep. 2, the Tavşantepe Neighborhood Headman and Narin's uncle, identified as S.G., were arrested as part of the investigation led by the Diyarbakır Public Prosecutor's Office.
Turkish Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç announced on social media platform X that 21 suspects have been detained as the investigation progresses.
The discovery of Narin's body, found in a sack covered with stones and branches and still wearing the clothes she was last seen in, has deeply saddened the community. The location, the Eğertutmaz Stream, had been meticulously searched at least three times prior to the grim discovery.
