The ceremony was attended by KRG’s Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Bigard Talabani and Chairman of the Kurdistan Board of Investment Mohammed Shukri, underscoring the government's commitment to this strategic project.
The Dwin Dam, with a vast reservoir spanning four square kilometers and a storage capacity of 100 million cubic meters, is a substantial undertaking. Constructed from RCC concrete, the dam will stand tall at 75 meters with a width of 320 meters.
The completion of this dam signifies the ninth cabinet's dedication to advancing the agricultural, water resources, and tourism sectors.
Beyond its agricultural and water management benefits, the dam is anticipated to stimulate the local economy by establishing a flourishing fishing center and creating opportunities for residents in the surrounding areas.
This infrastructure project aligns with the KRG's vision for sustainable development and economic growth, harnessing the region's natural resources for the benefit of its citizens.
