ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - The Iraqi Meteorological Authority issued its weather forecast for the upcoming days on Thursday, anticipating a mix of rain showers and rising temperatures across the country.
The statement, released by the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring's Meteorological Forecasting Department, detailed the weather conditions for Friday, September 20, 2024.
Central and southern regions can expect clear skies with occasional clouds, while the northern region will experience partly cloudy conditions with the possibility of thunderstorms.
Temperatures will remain similar to those experienced the previous day in all areas of the country.
The forecast also provided a breakdown of expected maximum temperatures for Friday:
* Baghdad, Karbala, Diyala, and Babylon: 38°C
* Dohuk and Sulaymaniyah: 30°C
* Erbil: 32°C
* Nineveh: 33°C
* Kirkuk: 34°C
* Salah al-Din: 36°C
* Anbar: 37°C
Looking ahead to Saturday, central and northern regions can anticipate clear to partly cloudy skies, with the chance of rain showers in the north.
Southern regions will experience clear weather. Temperatures will remain stable in the northern region but will increase slightly in the central and southern areas.
On Sunday, central and southern regions will see clear skies with intermittent cloud cover, while the northern region will be partly cloudy with a chance of rain showers.
Temperatures will be comparable to the previous day in the central and northern regions, with a slight increase expected in the southern region.
For Monday, the forecast predicts clear skies with some clouds, gradually transitioning to partly cloudy conditions starting from the western parts of the country.
Temperatures are expected to remain stable across all regions.
