Plane skids off runway in Hakkari due to heavy rain

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - A passenger plane flying from Ankara to Hakkari skidded off the runway and became stuck in mud during landing due to heavy rain.

The AJet flight, which departed from Ankara Esenboğa Airport at 11:30, experienced the incident while attempting to land at Selahaddin Eyyubi Airport in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari.

According to reports, the plane had to circle the area due to the adverse weather conditions and skidded off the runway during its second landing attempt.

AJet's Press Counselor, Mehmet Yeşilkaya, released a statement on social media addressing the situation. He confirmed that flight VF4316's front wheel became stuck in the mud due to heavy rain during landing.
