ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - On Sunday, Masrour Barzani, Vice President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), confidently stated during a meeting with the youth of Duhok that the KDP is poised to claim the top position in the upcoming Kurdistan parliamentary elections.

He underscored that under the leadership of President Barzani, the KDP will continue to hold its status as the leading political force in the Kurdistan Region.

“The KDP was not established to compete with any political party but to stand against oppression and occupation,” Barzani remarked. “Since its founding, it has remained united and free, and with the support of God and the beloved people of Kurdistan, it grows stronger by the day.”

Barzani reiterated the KDP's foundational mission of liberating Kurdistan, emphasizing the party’s unwavering goal of achieving full rights for the Kurdish people, just like other nations. He highlighted the resilience of the KDP despite attempts to undermine it.

"The plan to defeat the KDP has failed. Learn from history and rest assured that the KDP will continue to strengthen because it is supported by both God and the people of Kurdistan," Barzani asserted.

Calling for peace, Barzani noted that the KDP is at its strongest point in history.

“We have never been as powerful as we are now, and our enemies have never been weaker. Yet, despite this, we extend a hand of peace to all,” he said, stressing the party's commitment to stability and development in the region.

Barzani also pointed out the pivotal role the KDP has played in the success of the Kurdistan Region.

"No political party in Kurdistan has been able to achieve anything without the KDP. While we seek peace and development for Kurdistan, some parties have sacrificed the region’s interests for personal gain, neglecting the welfare of the citizens,” he stated.

Highlighting the inclusiveness of the KDP, Barzani described it as a party for all religions and nationalities.

"Throughout history, the KDP has defended the rights of various communities and nationalities in Kurdistan. Thanks to the KDP, the Kurdistan Region now holds a vital position in the Middle East," he noted.

In his closing message, Barzani directly addressed the people of Sulaimani, Halabja, Raperin, and Garmian: “Do not fear anyone. No one owns you. You are a free people, the inheritors of the September Revolution, and the owners of this country and your decisions. No corrupt power can stop you from exercising your right to make those decisions," he declared, reinforcing the party’s support for the freedom and autonomy of the Kurdish people.

Masrour Barzani stated, “How can those who have not shown loyalty to the strugglers and old political activists of this nation be trusted to be loyal to you and to the future of this nation? It is time to stand in support of all Kurdish villages, cities, and towns, and to put an end to corruption and illegal self-imposition anywhere in Kurdistan."

A deputy of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) added, "The greatest betrayal in Kurdistan's history occurred on October 16, 2017. However, just as the fighters of the KDP and Kurdistan humbled the enemies on October 20, 2017, in Parde, this October 20, we will once again humble the enemies of the KDP."
