Kurdistan Parliament holds first session of sixth term with diplomatic presence
The elected candidate of the New Generation Mohammed Sulaiman, as the oldest elected representative, was chosen to chair the first session.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Monday, the first session of the sixth term of Kurdistan Region’s Parliament began at 12:40 PM with the participation of 97 of the elected candidates.
The elected candidate of the New Generation Mohammed Sulaiman, as the oldest elected representative, was chosen to chair the first session.
The agenda for the first parliamentary session is as follows:
First: Opening the session with recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran.
Second: Observing a moment of silence to honor the sacrifices made by the martyrs of Kurdistan.
Third: Calling the oldest elected candidate by the Chief of Diwan of the Kurdistan Parliament to take his oath and chair the session. According to the 2nd Paragraph of Article 11 and 1st Paragraph of Article 12 of the rules and regulations of Parliament, the oldest candidate among the elected members shall chair the first session.
Fourth: The head of the first parliamentary session of the KRG’s Sixth Parliamentary cycle asks the elected members to take their legal oaths per the 2nd paragraph of Article 12 of the Kurdistan Parliament Rules and Regulations. Following this procedure, the rest of the session is chaired by the head of the first session.
Additionally, 19 Consul Generals and diplomats are among the attendants at the opening of the first session of the Kurdistan Region’s sixth round of Parliament.
