The aim of the decision was to preclude stealing, smuggling and looting in the border crossing checkpoints.

The decision was meant to be made by the Kurdistan Region’s Government, to make a joint force between the Ministry of Peshmerga’s Affairs, in which its minister is PUK, with the Ministry of Interior.

The proposal by the Premier would further explain to start work from Haji Omeran and Ibrahim Khalil to deter smuggling, and afterward to work in Bashmakh and Parwez Khan.

The PUK team at the Council of Ministers, led by the Deputy Prime Minister warned if such joint force interfered with the borders’ checkpoints, a civil war would erupt.

“Who is causing the civil war? What force in Sulaimani and Halabja consider themselves greater than the governmental joint force to be capable of causing the civil war? That is an example when they say we have precluded smuggling, stealing and looting” Hemin questioned.
