Reforming in health sector continues with Prime Minister’s support
He disclosed that the most important rule is to counter the illegal drugs, patients’ rights and responsibilities, also the preparation and completion of the health insurance law, when that one is approved, it will be an important principle in the Kurdistan Region.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – On Monday, in Erbil, a conference to confer the reforms in health services in Kurdistan Region, was held, where the Prime Minister attended too.

It included the distribution of medicines, medical supplies, and the overall strategy for the revamping region’s health system in Kurdistan.
The Minister of Health at the Kurdistan Region Government, Saman Barzanji sated in the conference “the health sector is a public service to all people without discrimination, it is a 24/7 service.
“The Ministry of Health led by the 9th Cabinet at the Kurdistan Region Government, a detailed and long-term plan was offered for four years,” Dr. Barzanji said “Health service includes three aspects, one is to continue offering services to people, the second is to develop and expand the health settings, human and equipment infrastructure, also medication and medical necessities. While, the third part which is very important, to meet future needs that are based on the international advanced form”
The Minister of Health highlighted that over past few years, while the world experienced hard health crises, the health sector in the region faced crises, but it was able to resist those crises.

“Efforts were made to expand the public and the governmental infrastructure, both regarding the building construction, medical equipment and supplies and various specialties” Dr Barzanji said.
He emphasized that the 9th Cabinet of the KRG plan reduced the routines as well as equally health service has been provided for people.
According to Dr. Barzanji’s statement, it is the first time, the ministry was able to provide services to countryside. To districts and subdistricts, such as providing specialists, medical equipment and building hospitals, so people less visit the city centers for treatment purpose”
The minster explained further that the Kurdistan Regional Government continues reforming the health sector, such attempt is supported by the Prime Minister Masrour Barzani.
He added “the most important of all, is the creation of the legal principles for the management and delivering health services away from personal and political party’s interests”
