Another successful general voting process ran in Zakho Independent Administration

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – Colonel Ahmad, the Head of Media and Communications at the Zakho Police Directorate was interviewed by Kurdistan 24 on Monday.
He highlighted the successful responsibility taken by the security force in Zakho Independent Administration
“The security plan in the Zakho Independent Administration, during the special and general voting processes was successfully managed” Col. Ahmad said “in the special voting in Zakho, we had eight polling stations, there were no problems, and in the general voting day, we had 58 polling stations, which was very peaceful,"
Understanding from his statement, the peaceful atmosphere and successful running were down to the plan was conducted by the Zakho Police Directorate as well as other relevant departments.
“It was not only to protect the security of Zakho Administration border in general, but also to protect the polling stations, thanks to God both aims were run” He added.
After six years of delaying and swaying from the election, the Kurdistan parliamentary general election took place on the October 20th, 2024, which was the sixth round, in the region.
According to the officials in the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), they insisted to have a transparent, free and fair election.
The voting process started from 07:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 20th, 2024 in all four constituencies (Erbil, Sulaimani, Duhok and Halabja) and after 11 hours of continuity, all polling stations were closed at 18:00 (Kurdistan Region local time) ending the voting.
