ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – In an interview with Kurdistan24 on Monday, Hemin Hawrami, Head of the Organizational Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), expressed confidence in the party's significant electoral success in the recent Kurdistan Region parliamentary elections. Hawrami stated that the outcome was no surprise to the KDP, as it had strong faith in its strategy and the support of its broad popular base.

Reflecting on the results, Hawrami noted that the KDP secured 890,000 votes, a significant increase of 230,000 votes compared to the previous elections. He attributed this rise to the party's effective leadership, despite the challenges faced by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and his cabinet.

"Despite the numerous obstacles and efforts by various parties to undermine the KDP's success, the party has achieved a great victory," Hawrami said. He underscored the KDP's historical roots in the Kurdistan Region and reaffirmed that the party’s tenth cabinet, led by Prime Minister Barzani, is set to build on this legacy.

Hawrami also highlighted the party's increased support in traditionally challenging regions, including Sulaimani and Halabja, where the KDP gained approximately 9,000 more votes compared to previous elections. He credited the rise in support to Prime Minister Barzani's developmental projects and efforts to serve these regions.

Looking ahead, Hawrami emphasized the KDP's commitment to forming an inclusive government. "The KDP will open the door to everyone to participate in the next cabinet. We intend to work together to ensure Kurdistan’s stability and prosperity," he concluded.
