ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - On Tuesday, Karzan Hadi, Head of Erbil Municipality, told Kurdistan24 that they have launched a comprehensive cleanup campaign of schools used as polling stations, in coordination with Erbil's Education Directorate.

"Since Monday, our municipal teams, in collaboration with Erbil's Education Directorate, have been working to clean up schools that served as polling stations," Hadi said.

The Municipality added that they have also begun removing campaign posters and images from locations where election campaigning took place.

"We aim to complete the cleanup of streets, public spaces, and removal of all posters within less than a week," Hadi stated.

However, he noted that "so far, no candidates have offered assistance or participated in the cleanup efforts to remove their campaign posters from the streets."

The cleanup initiative follows the completion of Kurdistan Parliament's sixth cycle elections, which included special voting on Oct. 18 and general voting on Oct. 20, 2024, across the Kurdistan Region.
