Erbil security committee announces end of victory celebrations, car processions following preliminary election results

Following the end of the election campaign and result announcement, the committee stated, "Expressions of celebration through car processions, use of disruptive devices, causing traffic congestion or obstacles are strictly prohibited in all forms."

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - On Tuesday, the Erbil Security Committee announced the end of public celebrations following the release of preliminary election results.

"We inform all citizens in Erbil governorate that tonight, Oct. 22, marks the end of the election campaign and the announcement of preliminary results. Therefore, expressions of celebration through car processions, use of disruptive devices, causing traffic congestion or obstacles are strictly prohibited in all forms," the committee stated.

The announcement further indicated that "Traffic Police have been instructed to identify and record the numbers of vehicles engaging in such activities, for legal action and imposing fines on their owners."

The measure aims to maintain order and prevent potential disturbances as election results are released.
