Iraqi Presidency condemns Israeli strike on Iran

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - The Iraqi Presidency strongly condemned the Israeli attack on Iran on Saturday, characterizing it as a flagrant violation of international law and state sovereignty, while reaffirming Iraq's steadfast position against any form of escalation.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Media Office of the Iraqi Presidency stated, "The Presidency of the Republic of Iraq strongly condemns the Zionist attacks targeting the Islamic Republic of Iran, considering them a blatant violation of international laws and state sovereignty, and another step toward destabilizing security and stability in the region."
The statement called on the international community to "assume its responsibilities and take urgent action to put an end to these attacks and prevent the expansion of the conflict."
The Presidency's statement further emphasized Iraq's renewed "unwavering position in rejecting any form of escalation, supporting Palestinians in obtaining their legitimate rights, and establishing their independent state on Palestinian national soil."
It also stressed "the necessity of working diligently to end the ongoing aggression against our brothers in Gaza and Lebanon, and reaching solutions that support the achievement of security and stability in the region."
