IHEC to announce final Kurdistan Region Parliament Election results Wednesday

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - According to Kurdistan24 sources, a delegation from Iraq's Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) Board of Commissioners is scheduled to arrive in Erbil on Monday to finalize preparations for announcing the results of the Kurdistan Parliament's sixth session elections.
The IHEC delegation will convene on Tuesday to resolve the remaining electoral complaints before officially announcing the final results on Wednesday.

The electoral process began on Oct. 18, 2024, with special voting that saw participation from over 215,000 members of the Kurdistan Region's security forces, including Peshmerga, Asayish (security forces), police, and Interior Ministry personnel.
The general election followed on Oct. 20, with 2,686,578 eligible voters registered to participate.
According to preliminary results released by IHEC, the voter turnout reached 70 percent, marking a significant level of democratic participation in the Kurdistan Region.
This announcement will mark the culmination of the Kurdistan Region's latest democratic exercise, determining the composition of the sixth Kurdistan Parliament.
The results will play a crucial role in shaping the region's political landscape for the coming term.
