KRP Nechirvan Barzani, al-Hikma Movement leader discuss regional stability, parliamentary elections

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met with Ammar al-Hakim, leader of Iraq's al-Hikma Movement (National Wisdom Movement), in Erbil on Tuesday to discuss the recent Kurdistan parliamentary elections and broader regional issues.

During the meeting, al-Hakim congratulated President Barzani on the successful completion of the Kurdistan parliamentary elections.

Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining constructive dialogue between Erbil and Baghdad, agreeing that resolving disputes through constitutional mechanisms and mutual understanding is crucial for Iraq's stability.

"Cooperation between Iraq's various political forces and components in pursuit of the country's supreme interests remains essential," the leaders stated in their discussion of domestic politics.

The two leaders also addressed regional tensions, emphasizing the importance of maintaining Middle East stability and keeping Iraq neutral in regional conflicts.

They stressed the necessity of collaborative efforts to protect Iraq from becoming entangled in regional disputes and their potential consequences.
