President Barzani “life could be difficult without electricity or cars, but without water we will not be able to survive”

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – Attending the Mesopotamia Medical Conference which is taking place, in Erbil, on Thursday, while giving an important speech in the event, President Barzani pointed up few more very critical issues.

The Kurdistan Region Government has been recommended by President Barzani formed its new cabinet accordingly to rules and with a principle of one region, one government, and one parliament and one unified Peshmerga force.

In the historical event ran in Kurdistan Region, which was managing the general elections in a secure and peaceful circumstance, on October 18th and the 20th, HE was proud and highlighted as holding these elections without any notable problems, despite some people’s expectations of the urgence of many problems.

In his speech, President Barzani highlighted the following: 

“The positions of some parties differed before and after the elections, now the election is over and the results have been announced, it is time for the dialogue between all parties.

The criteria is the electoral merits, but what matters most is the formation of the next government in the Kurdistan Region, based on the following principles: one region, one parliament, one government, and a unified Peshmerga force."

To work seriously to prevent illegal activities, such as drug producing factories, or drug dealing, terrorism, other outlaw actions, all of these actions must be stopped, the rule of law must prevail.

the ninth cabinet formation as well as the previous ones that preceded, worked to improve the public services, but year after year, the experiences become richer, and the possibilities are better.

I believe that the time has come to develop strategic plans, the health sector must reach the highest level, as well as the education, agriculture and tourism.

We must move towards self-reliance, yes, oil is very important, but today or tomorrow it will finish, but agriculture is endless, also tourism too from economic perspective.

I believe that one of the biggest crises ahead will be a water crisis, in shala -God willing- it won’t happen, but all the anticipations indicate to that.

Life may be difficult without electricity or cars, but without water we will not be able to survive.

It is mentioned in the Holy Quran “And We made from water every living thing”, thus the efforts by the ninth government in building dams and caring for water was commendable and of its interest.

However, more efforts must be made in this regard, and the issue of providing water must be among the priorities by the tenth cabinet.

It is directly related to the lives of citizens and does not tolerate any neglections.  

Concerning relations with Baghdad, the goal is to address all problems with Baghdad on the basis of the constitution and agreements.

Recently we heard there is an initiative for the peace making, we are pleased about launching that initiative in Turkey, we hope it will succeed and that no one will create obstacles in its way.

Everyone can talk, say things, but what matters is actions, there is a beautiful Arabic say “May God bless a person who knows their own worthy”
