The US Ambassador to Iraq reaffirmed U.S. support to a fast formation of an inclusive and responsive government to the needs of the Kurdistan Region's people.
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The Kurdistan Region Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani welcomed the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski accompanied by the US Consul General in Erbil, Steve Bitner on Monday.
Discussions were made around the procedures and preparations related to forming the new KRG government, after the successful parliamentary general election held on October 20th, 2024.
The two sides agreed on the importance of reaching an understanding between political parties to expedite the formation of the new government, enabling it to continue its work and implement its service projects that meet the needs of all people and communities in Kurdistan Region.
The Prime Minister stressed the need of a government based on the voices of all participating political parties and their electoral merits, as well as for it to be a complete, strong and unified government.
The two sides focused on the tensions and conflicts occurring in the Middle East, coherent between the parties in the meeting on the importance of maintaining security and stability in the region.
Furthermore, to ensure to deter those crises and wars to stretch out Iraq and Kurdistan Region.
The US Ambassador to Iraq posted through her X platform account about her visit, reaffirming U.S. support to a fast formation of an inclusive and responsive government to the needs of the Kurdistan Region's people.
