KDP to start negotiation with other political parties to form new government

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – Pshtiwan Sadiq, the Politburo Head (Political Organizing Bureau) from the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP)’s in Erbil, will be a guest at Hakim Farhad’s TV Show on Kurdistan 24 TV channel.

There will a discussion about a number of important issues, the most dominant topic is the formation of the new government and cabinet after the parliamentary general election in Kurdistan Region.

On Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, a source from the KDP central committee told Kurdistan 24 website "next week, the KDP negotiating delegation will begin a new round of talks with all the political sides about forming the 10th Cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government”  

According to the same source, "over past several days, KDP visited several political parties, and it will visit other political parties, and wants to form a government which has the majority of parties participate.” 

He explained that the results of the elections will be decided on on Sunday, also there are 10 days before the political parties to hold the first session of parliament, the KDP has no red line against any party and should form a of-majority-based government.

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced that it will hold talks with the parties regarding the formation of the new cabinet upon a recommendation by the supreme leader President Barzani.
