PM Barzani, former Turkish Prime Minister discuss bilateral relations

The meeting, attended by Turkish Consul General in Erbil Erman Topçu, focused on enhancing ties between Turkey and the Kurdistan Region and addressing the broader situation in Iraq and the region.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Ahmet Davutoğlu, leader of Turkey's Future Party and former Prime Minister, on Sunday to discuss regional developments and bilateral relations.  

The meeting, attended by Turkish Consul General in Erbil Erman Topçu, focused on enhancing ties between Turkey and the Kurdistan Region and addressing the broader situation in Iraq and the region.  

Davutoğlu emphasized the Kurdistan Region’s strategic importance and underscored the necessity of strengthening Turkey’s partnership with the region.  

Prime Minister Barzani expressed the Kurdistan Regional Government’s commitment to advancing relations with Turkey across various sectors, highlighting mutual interests and opportunities for collaboration.  

The dialogue reflects ongoing efforts to foster regional stability and strengthen cross-border cooperation.
