Representative of LDS’ speech at cornerstone setting ceremony for rehabilitation center in Erbil
“Everyone should be made aware of those who have become addicted need rehabilitation and we are willing to participate with you to rescue addicts,” Elder Adilson de Paula Parella said.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – In cooperation with Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF), the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) which already had a significant role assisting the refugees, Internally Displaced Persons (IDP), and others in Kurdistan Region, participated in building such rehab center.

Elder Adilson de Paula Parella the Representative of LDS gave a speech at the ceremony of setting cornerstone for the new drug awareness and rehabilitation center in Erbil, on Tuesday, where the Kurdistan Regional Prime Minister attended too.

Parella stated “drug addiction challenge is everywhere, when someone becomes addicted, it will be a gift from God to have an agency, a center to assist the addiction and save addicted.
That is why we are establishing this center to treat addicts, not only addicts but also to help their families, and we want to give hope to those who have lost hope.
So, this center will be a hope for those who are addicted, as well as it will be a hope for their families.
Unfortunately, many of us know have a friend who is addicted, it is a big challenge building this center and building a hope for the addicts."
