Notre-Dame Cathedral restoration

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The world witnessed the first look inside the splendid new Notre-Dame Cathedral, on Friday, November 30th, 2024.

Our childhood’s fictional story, The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo, the classical fiction and historical novel introduced us the very famous site in the world that couldn’t be helped but to visit in Paris. 

After a devastating fire engulfed the Gothic jewel of the famous Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris, in April 2019, thereafter, the Paris prosecutor’s office declared it was treating the fire as an accident. 

France's President, Emmanuel Macron gave a speech in a televised tour in the reconstructed and refurbished new Notre Dame cathedral. 

“2,000 men and women, spent their days and nights here, to put your part into 800 years of history" Referring to the cathedral's age of over 800 years, the President stated. 

In his speech, he praised the workers for achieving an impossible task in rebuilding and restoring, as well as thanked the magnificent donations around the world they received to restore such historic and prominent treasure on the earth planet. 

"I am so deeply grateful, France is so deeply grateful. You have brought Notre-Dame back in five years, so thank you." Macron ended his speech with. 

The 12th-century church consists of relics, stained glass and other priceless work of art. 

It has become one of biggest tourist attraction heritage in the world, Notre Dame Cathedral shows a mind-blowing architectural design. 

It’s built more than 600 years before the Eiffel Tower, the cathedral locates on the Paris's Ile de la Cite.
