Iraqi Parliament debates: second reading for Iraqi total budget on Dec. 2, 2024

Abdulla explained that the aim of the meeting is making preparations to pass those three bills have been disputed on Sunday, December 1st, 2024, one of them is about cancelling those decisions issued during Ba'ath Regime's rule.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – It is decided to arrange a meeting tomorrow, Monday, December 2nd, 2024, to carry out the second reading for the Total Budget in Iraqi parliament debate, as the Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Shakhawan Abdulla, exclusively, stated to Kurdistan 24, on Sunday.

Abdulla explained that the aim of the meeting is making preparations to pass those three bills have been disputed on Sunday, December 1st, 2024, one of them is about cancelling those decisions issued during Ba'ath Regime's rule.  

According to his statement, it is several months, but no settlements have been achieved about those 3 proposals.

"They will hold a meeting with the Kurdish factions to confer on the necessary recommendations, however some agreements were reached to pass the proposals on,” Abdulla added 

He expressed his good feeling about tomorrow's debate regarding the second reading for the complete budget 2025 bill, "to some extends, there has been an agreement" 

It is understood from his statement that so far, no tangible agreement has been obtained between Kurds, Sunnis and Shiites about the three proposed bills without any arguments, he highlighted "this is the fifth time they have met regarding those proposed bills."

The Deputy Speaker revealed during the interview with Kurdistan 24 "there is an important meeting between the Finance Committee of the Iraqi Parliament and the Iraqi Oil Ministry today, Sunday, four senior officials from the Oil Ministry will attend the meeting."

According to the sources, the meeting is to make preparations for the second reading on amending the budget to resuming the oil-exports from Kurdistan Region. 

The officials are believed to be the Deputy Minister of Oil for Oil Refine Affairs, SOMO company manager, manager of the Legal Department and manager of the economic department at the Ministry of Oil.
