New Kurdistan Region parliamentary session to convene
As reports indicate, all preparations and protocols have been made for the first session to convene as planned.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Monday, the first session of the Sixth round of the Kurdistan Region’s Parliament is set to be held.
According to the agenda of the first session, the parliamentary session is set to start before noon and it is to be chaired by the Chief of Diwan of the Kurdistan Parliament Mr. Ardalan Muhammad Sarspi.
The Speaker of the Parliament will then call the elected candidates to take their oath.
As reports indicate, all preparations and protocols have been made for the first session to convene as planned.
In a new step, the Kurdistan Region’s Parliament Center for Research issued a parliamentary work guide prior to the candidates’ assumption of their duties. The purpose of this is to help acquaint the newly elected candidates with the parliamentary procedures and legislative activities.
As stated by the internal rules and regulations of the Kurdistan Region Parliament, the first session of the parliament is chaired by the oldest candidate.
The agenda for the first parliamentary session is as follows:
First: Opening the session with recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran.
Second: Observing a moment of silence to honor the sacrifices made by the martyrs of Kurdistan.
Third: Calling the oldest elected candidate by the Chief of Diwan of the Kurdistan Parliament to take his oath and chair the session. According to the 2nd Paragraph of Article 11 and 1st Paragraph of Article 12 of the rules and regulations of Parliament, the oldest candidate among the elected members shall chair the first session.
Fourth: The head of the first parliamentary session of the KRG’s Sixth Parliamentary round asks the elected members to take their legal oaths in accordance to the 2nd paragraph of Article 12 of the Kurdistan Parliament Rules and Regulations. Following this procedure, the rest of the session is chaired by the head of the first session.
