Unified Kurdish dictionary will be prepared for educational settings

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – Hasan Sartip, the Director General of Curriculum at the Ministry of Education of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) told Kurdistan 24, Thursday, on December 5th, 2024, “it is a long time, we have been working for a unified standard dictionary in the curriculum for academic educational settings, so all of the books will be changed"
There has been a big gap of lacking a unified standard dictionary beside a Kurdish standard language in the education system when it came to select any terminology, it is understood from his statement that 60% of the work is completed but only 40% remained which is in the process to be finished soon.
"The dictionary will be completed by the end of January next year 2025 and will be the first unified Kurdish dictionary in schools, which will consist of several concepts related to scientific subjects," Sartip said.
He emphasized that the aim of preparing such dictionary is purely to rearrange and reorganize the Kurdish language to avoid all the problems have been faced for Kurdish language, especially at the schools.
According to the statement, a special team consisted of a number of teachers, professionals and experts of the Kurdish language from all over the Kurdish cities have been supervising the preparation of that dictionary.
