Syrian PM Al- Jalali calls on opposition forces to coordinate with him

Following Al-Jalali's message, on his side the leader of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), currently leading the country’s armed opposition, in a statement called on the rebel forces to leave country's settings unharmed.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The series of the latest developments in Syria have been drastic, and after the downfall of the Syrian government regime in Damascus the last city fallen in rebel forces' control, on Sunday morning (Syrian local time), December 8th, 2024, the Syrian Prime Minister, Mohammed Ghazi al-Jalali posted a recorded message through social platforms.

In His message, Al-Jalali called on all sides in the country to refrain from any harm or damage to state's public properties. 

He also expressed his readiness to cooperate with the opposition forces, and any leadership chosen by the people.

"To all Syrians, you are dear to my heart, you are from me, and I am from you, I am here in my home, did not leave, I am from this country I do not know any other countries to be my homeland apart from Syria.

 It is a time all people worry and feel fear, however everyone is caring for the country and preserving the state's assets, I am as the country assets carer and preserver, they are not my properties or anyone else's, but they belong to Syrian citizens, they are built with Syrians' sweat of hardworking and earnings. 

I am at my house, I am not leaving and do not intend to, except in a peaceful manner to ensure the continuing operation of public establishments, state assets, and to broadcast safety and security for all citizens. 

We are ready to cooperate with any leadership the Syrian people choose, who some of these leaders offered us coordination hands, ensuring they won't harm any public assets, I know the records and documentation of the state assets. 

We extend our hands to every Syrian citizen who is concerned about safeguarding this nation’s assets. I urge all citizens not to dmage any public property because, ultimately, it belongs to them.” 

Following Al-Jalali's message, on his side the leader of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), currently leading the country’s armed opposition, in a statement urged the rebel forces to leave country's settings and assets unharmed, untouched. 

In an interview with CNN, on Thursday, December 5th, 2024, Al-Jolani stated a different view regarding the developments in Syria, explaining his party is different from terrorists and extremists, and for the first time, he revealed his real name – Ahmed al-Sharaa – instead of Abu Mohammad al-Jolani.
