ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The developments in Syrian, and especially in the capital city on Sunday, are closely monitored world-widely, the UK and western media outlets mainly focused on the latest developments, HTS, Kurd's territory Rojava (east of Kurdistan, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) which is backed by the U.S.
The Former Head of the UK MI6, Sir John Sawers was interviewed by the UK Sky-News' Sunday Morning, (UK- GMT a.m. Wintertime), he hoped Syria wouldn't end up like Libya and described Al-Assad and his dynasty Government as brutal regime "I lived in Syria back in 1980s" he said.
Sir Sawers told Sky's Sunday Morning about his experience with working for over a decade, as a chief of MI6, studying all the Syrian opposition groups and classifying them into those who could be supported by the UK and those who could not be backed, due to being too close to al Qaeda ideology "and Tahrir al-Sham was definitely in the latter category" he stated
"But I think Abu Mohammad al-Golani, the leader, has made great efforts over the last 10 years to distance himself from those terrorist groups and certainly the actions we've seen of Tahrir al-Sham over the last two weeks has been those of a liberation movement, not of a terrorist organisation." Sir Sawers added.
According to the statements by the British Official seniors including Home Secretary, Foreign Secretary and other governmental agencies to the press, they will hold assessment meetings for a review and carful watching the situation, developments, changes and the impacts on the country, wider region and the whole Middle East's security and stability.
UK media outlets highlighted worries and fear lie regarding the rapid developments occurred in Syria to lead the country into unknown destination, reality and perhaps further conflicts occur.

Following the Sunday morning announcement thorough the Iranian state-owned news channel Press TV "the Iranian embassy in the Syrian capital was stormed by militants", Iranian Government gave its first official statement after overthrown Assad regime by the rebel opposition.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated, "it is monitoring the situation in Syria and the region closely, Iranian Government respects Syria's unity and national sovereignty also that its future decision-making rests solely to the people of Syria".
The statement added that the "long-standing and friendly relations between Iran and Syria are expected to continue"
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) officials advised they are unaware whether Syria's President Bashar al Assad fled to their country.
According to some local and international sources, Bashar Assad, probably, fled Damascus, on Saturday, December 7th, 2024.
The Iraqi media reported that the Iraqi embassy building in Damascus has been evacuated.
