ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – It is the 72nd anniversary of the establishment of the Kurdistan Women Union (KWU), which is an organization in the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), to work for women's rights.
In a congratulatory message, on Wednesday, President Barzani highlighted that Kurdistan Women Union (KWU) is one of the important achievements of the Great September Revolution, as well as it has been a successful experience of the women's political and social participation.

"The Respected Secretary and Members of the Secretariat Bureau of the Kurdistan Women Union (KWU),
"On the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the establishment of the Kurdistan Women Union, I extend my warmest congratulations to you and all the members of your organization of struggles and all the women in Kurdistan.
"The Kurdistan Women Union is one of the important achievements of the Great September Revolution and at the same time it has been a successful experience of women's participation in Kurdistan's political and social life.
"The KWU is an organization of struggles exists in the revolution and fighting process of the Kurdistan people, which has very well met its role in awareness, educating women and defending their rights, also their participation is always prominent in the liberation process of the Kurdistan people.
"It is expected from the KWU to work to strengthen the spirit of patriotism among its member according to the culture of coexistence, civilization, equality and eliminating domestic and social violences principles in the future stages of our people's life"
