ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – At least 30 people were poisoned during a wedding celebration in the al-Karmah district of Anbar province, Kurdistan24 reported on Thursday.

Ahmad Naji, a Kurdistan24 correspondent, said the victims included 12 women, eight men, and several children. All were transferred to Fallujah Hospital for treatment.

Hazim Hamid, director of al-Karmah Hospital, confirmed the cause of the poisoning was contaminated and poorly prepared food served at the event. "Most of the patients experienced severe diarrhea and vomiting," Hamid stated.
