PM Masrour Barzani Inaugurates Medico Health Exhibition in Erbil

ERBIL (Kurdistan24)—Prime Minister Masrour Barzani officially inaugurated the Medico Health Exhibition in Erbil, marking a momentous step in advancing healthcare innovation in the Kurdistan Region.
The Kurdistan24 Media Foundation sponsors the exhibition, which is titled "Discover the Future of Health."
The exhibition, which opened on Wednesday, also featured Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Minister of Health Saman Barznji.
More than 150 international and local companies are participating in the four-day event, which aims to introduce cutting-edge medical advancements, pharmaceuticals, and health-related technologies.
In addition to showcasing innovations, the exhibition is expected to generate over 100 job opportunities within the sector.
Dr. Anas Hawar, the exhibition coordinator, described Medico as a "futuristic health event," emphasizing its focus on artificial intelligence and robotic technology in medicine.
Speaking to Kurdistan24, Dr. Hawar highlighted the significance of this initiative, noting that for the first time in Iraq and Kurdistan, an advanced AI-powered robot capable of interacting with visitors and diagnosing health conditions will be on display.
"This exhibition is a window into the future of medicine," Dr. Hawar stated. "We are showcasing how AI can transform healthcare, from robot-assisted surgeries to AI-driven diagnostics. The goal is to make healthcare more accessible so that patients can receive advanced medical attention without the need to travel abroad."
The Kurdistan Region has made significant strides in healthcare in recent years, with growing investments in medical infrastructure and research.
The Medico Health Exhibition represents a milestone in these efforts, placing Erbil on the map as a regional hub for medical innovation.
The event, which runs from Feb. 5 to Feb. 8, 2025, at the Erbil International Exhibition venue, serves as a platform for medical professionals, investors, and policymakers to explore the latest trends shaping the future of healthcare.
