ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The US-led International Coalition has significantly bolstered its military presence in northeastern Syria (Rojava) by dispatching large-scale reinforcements to its bases in the region, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

On Wednesday, a cargo aircraft landed at the Coalition’s Kharab al-Jir base in Rmelan, north of Hasakah, carrying advanced weaponry, a radar system, and additional US troops.

Simultaneously, a convoy of 50 trucks entered the base, transporting armored vehicles, heavy artillery, various munitions, sealed crates, and fuel tankers.

The convoy was escorted by military helicopters, with two choppers landing at the base upon its arrival. The reinforcements were transferred via al-Waleed border crossing with the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Additionally, 15 trucks loaded with fuel tankers and sealed military containers entered the Qasrak base, marking an escalation in U.S. military activity in Rojava.

Coalition Reinforces Presence Amid Heightened Security Concerns

According to SOHR the coalition deployed a considerable number of reinforcements throughout January, including both aerial and ground shipments.

The continued deployment of military assets and personnel underlines Washington’s prolonged strategic presence in Syria, especially in the face of persistent regional threats and the ongoing activities of jihadist groups.
