Kurdistan Region Braces for Rain, Snow, and Temperature Drop

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Forecasting Department of the General Directorate of Meteorology and Seismology of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has issued a weather advisory for the next 48 hours, predicting widespread cloud coverage, rainfall, and snowfall in mountainous regions.
Saturday Forecast: A weather system will bring complete cloud coverage with scattered showers across the Kurdistan Region.
Moderate rainfall is expected, particularly in the southern parts, including the Garmian Administration and sections of Sulaimani Governorate.
Snowfall is forecasted in mountainous areas, especially in Sulaimani and the eastern districts.
Temperatures will drop by 2-3°C compared to Friday’s levels. Winds from the southeast will blow at 10-20 km/h in the eastern Kurdistan Region, occasionally surpassing 25 km/h.
Visibility will range from 7-9 kilometers but could reduce to 4-6 kilometers in areas experiencing rain or snow.
