Kurdistan MP Accused of Sharing Footage with News channels to Incite Unrest
"The MP took photos and videos at multiple locations, which were later published on suspicious media platforms, including Sabereen News" According to the suspect Adam Othman Suleiman

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Erbil Police Department has released a statement revealing the confession of the driver of Kurdistan Parliament member (MP) Ali Hama Saleh, who testified that the MP had taken photos and recorded videos for a media outlet with the intent of misleading the public and inciting unrest in the Kurdistan Region.
According to the police statement, "certain hostile platforms have recently published a series of misleading images, videos, and fabricated information to deceive citizens and destabilize security in the Kurdistan Region."
Following extensive investigations and coordination with the Erbil Asayish Directorate, authorities identified individuals involved in what they described as an "illegitimate and unjust campaign."
Acting on a judicial order, security forces arrested a suspect named Adam Othman Suleiman, who was driving Ali Hama Saleh’s vehicle on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025.
According to his confession, the MP took photos and videos at multiple locations, which were later published on suspicious media platforms, including Sabereen News, with the alleged aim of inciting unrest.
The suspect admitted that he had accompanied the MP on Sunday to the United Nations headquarters, where Saleh took photos, then proceeded to the Kurdistan Parliament building and later to the Degala checkpoint, documenting each site. However, he claimed he was unaware of where the MP had sent the footage.
Shortly after, the images appeared on Sabereen News, a platform known for its affiliations with groups hostile to the Kurdistan Region’s security and stability.
Authorities in Erbil have reiterated their commitment to safeguarding the region from disinformation campaigns and any attempts to disrupt public order.
