Hawrami’s meeting with Congressman Hamadeh, a rising Republican figure and former U.S. Army intelligence officer, is part of his broader engagement with senior U.S. officials in Washington.

During his visit, Hawrami has been advocating for stronger U.S. political and military engagement in Kurdistan, particularly amid ongoing regional challenges and the fight against remnants of ISIS.

Congressman Abraham Hamadeh: A New Voice on U.S. Foreign Policy

Abraham Hamadeh, representing Arizona’s 8th Congressional District, is a freshman member of the U.S. House of Representatives and a vocal advocate for national security and international alliances. A former Army intelligence officer and prosecutor, Hamadeh has taken a strong stance on Middle East policy, emphasizing U.S. strategic interests and security cooperation with regional allies.

With his background in military intelligence and legal affairs, Hamadeh’s perspectives on counterterrorism and security partnerships align closely with Kurdistan’s objectives. His engagement with Hawrami signals a continued U.S. commitment to strengthening ties with the Kurdistan Region, particularly in defense and security cooperation.

A Strategic Partnership for Regional Stability

The Kurdistan Region remains a key U.S. ally in Iraq, playing a critical role in the fight against terrorism, regional stability, and economic development. U.S. policymakers have consistently recognized the Peshmerga forces' role in countering ISIS, leading to continued military assistance and training programs.

As Washington navigates its Middle East policy, Hawrami’s discussions with U.S. officials, including Congressman Hamadeh, reflect Kurdistan’s efforts to deepen ties with the U.S. beyond military cooperation, expanding into economic and political spheres.

Hawrami’s visit to the U.S. is expected to include further meetings with key members of Congress, State Department officials, and think tanks, reinforcing Kurdistan’s position as a reliable partner in an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape.
