Hemin Hawrami Discusses US Support for Kurdistan with Congressman Pat Harrigan

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) politburo member Hemin Hawrami met with U.S. Congressman Pat Harrigan in Washington, D.C., to discuss the new U.S. administration's support for the people of Kurdistan and the region’s role in regional and global affairs.

Hawrami shared details of the meeting in a post on his X account, stating: "We discussed Kurdistan Region’s latest positions, policies, and perspectives regarding local, Iraqi, and regional dynamics, as well as the U.S. administration’s continued support for the Kurdistani people."

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the role of Kurdistan Region, the vision of President Masoud Barzani, and the future of Kurdistan-U.S. relations amid ongoing regional tensions.

Congressman Pat Harrigan, a member of the U.S. House Armed Services Committee, commended the leadership of President Barzani and praised the role of the Peshmerga forces in ensuring security and stability in the region.
