KRP Nechirvan Barzani, Bahrain’s FM Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region’s President Nechirvan Barzani met with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani on Friday on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, where they discussed enhancing diplomatic, economic, and security ties between Bahrain, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region.

The meeting focused on recent developments in the Middle East and explored avenues to bolster cooperation between Bahrain and the Kurdistan Region.

Kurdistan Region President Barzani emphasized the importance of deepening political and economic engagement between the two entities while reaffirming the Kurdistan Region’s commitment to fostering regional stability and strengthening partnerships with Gulf nations.

Foreign Minister Al Zayani expressed Bahrain’s desire to enhance relations with both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, acknowledging the Kurdistan Region’s key role in maintaining security and stability.

He commended President Barzani’s leadership in promoting dialogue and regional cooperation, emphasizing Bahrain’s commitment to expanding bilateral relations across multiple sectors.

The discussions also covered the evolving situation in Syria and broader regional concerns.

Both sides reiterated their shared commitment to continued dialogue and collaboration on mutual interests, highlighting the necessity of strategic partnerships in ensuring long-term peace and prosperity in the region.
