KRP Nechirvan Barzani, Jordanian FM Discuss Regional Stability, Bilateral Cooperation

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – In a continuation of his high-level diplomatic engagements at the Munich Security Conference, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met on Friday with Ayman Hussein Abdullah al-Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The meeting underscored the importance of strengthening relations between Jordan, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region, with a particular focus on political and economic cooperation and addressing pressing regional security concerns.

During the meeting, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani emphasized the strategic and historical ties between Jordan and the Kurdistan Region, highlighting the vital role Jordan plays in promoting regional stability.

He expressed Kurdistan's commitment to expanding its partnerships with Jordan, particularly in areas of economic development, trade, and investment.

Minister Ayman Al-Safadi reaffirmed Jordan’s unwavering support for a stable and prosperous Iraq and Kurdistan Region, praising Kurdistan’s role in maintaining security and fostering peaceful coexistence.

He also reiterated Jordan’s dedication to advancing joint political and economic efforts, ensuring stronger ties between Amman, Baghdad, and Erbil.

In addition to bilateral matters, the discussion extended to ongoing security and political developments in Syria and the broader region. Both sides agreed on the importance of regional cooperation in addressing shared challenges, particularly regarding counterterrorism, refugee crises, and economic recovery efforts.

They underscored the necessity of continued dialogue and collaboration to promote sustainable peace and economic resilience across the Middle East.
