Security Alert in Al-Hol Camp
While security forces successfully prevented foreign detainees from fleeing, a number of Syrian and Iraqi families managed to escape.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The international Coalition and the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) have intensified their security operations in and around Al-Hol camp after thwarting an escape attempt involving foreign families affiliated with ISIS, while others managed to flee.
According to Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), six escape attempts were recorded last week, involving Syrian, Iraqi, and foreign nationals, including children.
While security forces successfully prevented foreign detainees from fleeing, a number of Syrian and Iraqi families managed to escape.
In response, Al-Hol remains on high security alert, with air support from the U.S.-led International Coalition assisting in search operations to track down the fugitives.
The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) has long been working to facilitate the voluntary return of Syrian families from Al-Hol, while also coordinating with foreign and Arab governments to repatriate their nationals held in the camp.
Al-Hol camp, which houses thousands of individuals linked to ISIS, remains a volatile security hotspot, with recurring escape attempts and concerns over the resurgence of extremist networks inside the camp.
