President Barzani Receives Head of Al-Mada Foundation

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – President Masoud Barzani received Fakhri Karim, head of Al-Mada Foundation for Media, Culture, and Arts and President of the Iraqi Council for Peace and Solidarity, on Sunday, at the Salahaddin resort.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the latest political developments in Iraq and the wider region.

Discussions also focused on ways to resolve Iraq’s political challenges, emphasizing the importance of continued efforts to foster coordination, cooperation, and political stability while ensuring peaceful coexistence among different communities.

Al-Mada Foundation: A Leading Independent Media Institution

Al-Mada Foundation for Media, Culture, and Arts is an independent Iraqi media and cultural organization, founded and led by Fakhri Karim. Headquartered in Baghdad, the foundation has branches in Damascus and Beirut and operates a publishing house (Dar Al-Mada).

Originally established in Damascus during the 1980s, before relocating to Baghdad in 2003. The foundation gained significant attention after publishing “Al-Mada List”, which exposed political figures and businessmen who allegedly received oil bribes from Saddam Hussein during Iraq’s sanctions era.
