ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iraq is set to resume oil exports from the Kurdistan Region within the next two days, marking a significant step forward in the country’s energy sector. Iraqi Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani announced on Monday that the pipelines leading to the Turkish port of Ceyhan are fully operational, paving the way for the long-anticipated resumption of shipments.

Minister Abdul Ghani emphasized the continued cooperation between Iraq and Turkey, stating that discussions with Turkish officials are ongoing to finalize the necessary agreements. We are waiting for the Turkish side's response to start exporting Kurdistan oil," he said, expressing optimism about a swift resolution.

According to Iraq’s budget law, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has agreed to export between 300,000 and 325,000 barrels of oil per day through the Ceyhan port. The remainder of production will be allocated to meet domestic demand.

The anticipated restart of oil exports marks a crucial development for Iraq’s economy. It will reinforce stability and strengthen energy ties with regional partners.
