Major greening project transforming Erbil-Shaqlawa-Pirmam road
Speaking to Kurdistan24 on Wednesday, Karzan Abdulhadi, Mayor of Erbil Municipality, confirmed that the project is progressing as planned and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – A large-scale greening project along the Erbil-Shaqlawa-Erbil-Pirmam Road is well underway, bringing a fresh wave of greenery to the region. Covering an impressive 50,000 square meters, the initiative is set to enhance the city's landscape and environmental sustainability.
Speaking to Kurdistan24 on Wednesday, Karzan Abdulhadi, Mayor of Erbil Municipality, confirmed that the project is progressing as planned and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
"This initiative is part of the Kurdistan Regional Government's broader plan to expand green spaces and improve the environmental quality of Erbil," Abdulhadi stated.
The project includes the planting of more than 1,407 trees and flowers, the installation of irrigation systems, water reservoirs, grass, and lighting, all contributing to a greener and more scenic road.
In addition to this major effort, Rashkin Park is also set to play a key role in increasing the city's green spaces, reinforcing Erbil’s commitment to sustainable urban development.
With these initiatives, Erbil is on track to becoming a greener, more vibrant city, benefiting both residents and visitors alike.
