ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) — The Politburo of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has issued a message on the occasion of Newroz and the Kurdish New Year, emphasizing the importance of unity among Kurdish political forces to address key national issues.
In its statement, the KDP extended its "warmest congratulations to the resilient Kurdish people, especially the families of the martyrs, the Peshmerga forces, and all patriots celebrating Newroz across the world."
Newroz: A Symbol of Resistance and Renewal
Describing Newroz as a symbol of resistance against oppression and a celebration of resilience, the statement highlighted the cultural and historical significance of the occasion. "Newroz represents a rebirth, a triumph of freedom, and the steadfast determination of the Kurdish people to stand against tyranny," it read.
The KDP also underscored the festival's enduring importance, noting that it remains a powerful emblem of the Kurdish struggle for rights and recognition. "It is a celebration of unity, renewal, and the hope for a prosperous future for Kurdistan."
